You + CAT Scans at Watson Imaging Center

If your doctor has ordered you to get a CT scan, or a computerized tomography scan, schedule it today with Watson Imaging Center.
Watson Imaging Center has plenty of hours that will work with your schedule – even on a Saturday morning in our St. Louis location – to get you in for a CT scan. Watson Imaging Center is open on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month, although check with us first during the holiday season about your appointment!

We usually can schedule exams the same day you call. When you call Watson Imaging Center to schedule your CT scan, depending on the type of CT scan ordered and the preparation necessary for the exam your doctor orders, you can get the exam the same day or within the next few days – oftentimes this depends on whether you need a blood test before the exam, whether you will need to fast and refrain from drinking fluids, or if you need to consume a contrast several hours before the exam.

Watson Imaging Center Respects Your Time
Not only can Watson Imaging Center schedule your CT scan fairly quickly, we also respect your time while you are here and see you as quickly as possible. Unlike a hospital, we are not also juggling emergencies and multiple departments.

Lower Cost Than a Hospital
A hospital usually charges you a higher fee for getting a CT scan on their premises. Watson Imaging Center accepts a variety of health insurance and offers discounted cash pricing for those without insurance. We also don’t separate our bills for facility and professionals, the way hospitals often do.

Prepare for Your CT Scan at Watson Imaging
Because a CT scan happens in a CT scanner – a machine that uses X-ray technology as part of the process – we recommend you wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that has no metal, such as zippers and snaps. It is better to wear clothing that has elastic instead – think sweatpants – so that you don’t have to change into a medical gown. We do offer medical gowns of course, but we want you to be as comfortable as possible during this painless exam, which should take 30 minutes or less. Having to change into a medical gown will only take more of your time, which we know is valuable to you.

What You Can Expect
A technologist will explain the exam in detail and will answer any questions or concerns you may have. He or she then will position you on the sliding table of the CT scanner appropriately for the scan you are to receive. The technologist will be able to see you through glass during the entire scan, and can talk to you – and you can talk to them – through an intercom. Following your CAT scan, the technologist performing your scan will consult with a radiologist to ensure no further images are necessary, then you will be able to return to your normal activities. A radiologist will interpret the images from your exam and send them to your doctor.
